About Anna Y. Khanna, M.D.
Anna Y. Khanna, M.D. was born in Russia and moved with her family to New Jersey during childhood. She graduated from Rutgers University in 1993 and from Ross University School of Medicine in 1998. Dr. Khanna completed her neurology training at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 2003. This included being the Chief Resident and a Fellowship in Cerebrovascular Disorders. She then joined the medical faculty of the medical center as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology and served as the Medical Director of Stroke Center of Saint Barnabas Medical Center in New Jersey.
Dr. Khanna relocated to join Jay J.Rubin,M.D., P.A. in the practice of Neurological Associates and to bring her unique expertise to Marion County in September of 2007. She also brought her husband, Anish Khanna, M.D. (internist and hospitalist), and their twins after they visited and felt an immediate attraction to this community.
Dr. Khanna is the Medical Director of the Stroke Center of Marion Community Hospital and West Marion Community Hospital. She provides general and stroke related neurological consultations at these hospitals and at the Ocala office of Neurological Associates. She is responsible for guiding the evaluation and treatment of patients with acute strokes and with great emphasis on prevention. It is remarkable to have a neurological specialist with her level of expertise in a relatively small community.
